Paige MacKenzie has finally succumbed to the lure of Jackson Hole, packing up her apartment and leaving Manhattan to return, at least temporarily, to her rental cabin near Jake's ranch. Between helping Jake get ready for an Open House at his renovated guest ranch, and getting acquainting with the regular residents, Paige is planning a new magazine article on Jackson Hole's film history, that includes the western classic, "Shane." But this leads her to wonder if someone else is also researching these original movie sites and digging for something else. This is a delightful mystery series with some truly picturesque landscape descriptions. The author has captured the flavor of a more sedate lifestyle, replete with equally unique characters. I love the interplay between Jake and Paige, especially in light of her unexpected jealousy over Jake's construction foreman, Chris. And I also enjoy the occasional humorous moments, such as the bison blockade. I am looking forward to returning to Jackson Hole for more adventures with Paige and Jake.
