It is just really all around the place. Loved 2033, could barely put down that book. This on the other hand feels messy, too much focus on boring details while there were parts I had to reread 4-5 times to understand who says what to whom

After reading Metro 2033, I was eager to find out what happened to Artyon and the lugubrous, but fascinating world created by the author. I did not find in Metro 2034 any of the things that enchanted me in the previous book. Gone was the constant sense of adventure and wonder, as well as the almost philosophical reflections that punctuated the conversations among the characters. Metro 2034 is nothing but a mishmash of poorly assembled stereotyped, shallow one-dimensional characters in fragmented plot.

A short adventure through the much loved and feared Moscow Metro. Metro 2034 does not deliver the same feeling as it's predecessor, neither in depth nor atmospherics. yet the Insight to this world from a vulnerable and gritty perspective leaves you involved. For The Order!

About the author

Dmitry Glukhovsky is Russian writer, playwright, and journalist. His first novel, Metro 2033, is a worldwide bestseller and has been translated into forty languages. Metro 2033 also serves as the inspiration behind the cult Metro video gaming franchise, making Glukhovsky a pioneer of transmedia storytelling. His other works include the remaining novels in the Metro trilogy, the novel Text and the critically acclaimed play The White Factory.

A longtime critic of Russia's authoritarian political regime, Glukhovsky now lives in exile in Europe. In addition to his native Russian, Glukhovsky fluently speaks English, French, German, Hebrew, and Spanish.
