Educated in the US, UK, Russia, and Japan, Douglas Bragdon is the lead artist and writer, working with students at the University of California, Santa Cruz to promote manga as a magazine format "not just for kids" in the Americas, based on the format of some of the intellectually interesting Japanese manga, which contain historical and politically relevant stories. Beyond his art work and fiction writing, he works in high-tech product management and marketing.
Annette Yao is a 2D artist currently residing in San José, California. She deals primarily with character concept art and world building design concepts, employing traditional and digital methods to communicate her ideas. She also dabbles in outdoor landscape painting and abstract painting.
She graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) with a Bachelor of Arts degree. During her time at UCSC, she collaborated with two separate teams of senior game design students and created 2D art assets to use in his games: Eye of the Giant (2015) and Featherweight (2016), of which the former was nominated for three awards at the UCSC Sammy Annual Awards Ceremony and was a finalist in the category of Best Visual Art. In her senior year, she created a 20-page digital comic about struggling to find a job as a college student called One Foot Forward (2016).
In her spare time, she likes to play video games, read fictional stories, and play with her cat.
Gian Paredes is a freelance digital artist and game designer with a passion for bringing unique characters and worlds to life. Inspired by fantasy, science fiction, comics and literature, Gian strives to always push his limits and create new things. Gian studied games and playable media at UCSC with a focus on concept art and graphic design. Along with illustration, Gian has a passion for animation, calligraphy, and photography. Gian designed the 'Devil Girl" font used at the end of Manga #1, and extensively in the "Devil Girl" feature story of Manga #2.
