Dr. T. G. Thompson was born on November 18, 1940, in the city of Pahokee, Florida. At the age of eight, while on the farm, Dr. Thompson heard the call of God and decided he would preach his first sermon. At the age of seventeen, Dr. Thompson died. His mother, Mrs. Dorothy Thompson, never ceased praying for him. Doctors pulled the sheets over his head and departed from the room. Mrs. Dorothy Thompson continued praying until the breath of life was manifested into Dr. Thompson’s body. Dr. Thompson quoted the scripture John 20:21, which says, “Then said Jesus to them again, peace be unto you: as my father hath sent me, even so send I you.” Thus at the age of seventeen, his ministry began in Florida and spread over the United States. The 1960s were exceptional years in his ministry. In 1969, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dr. Thompson had an out-of-body experience. An angel of the Lord appeared to him. He quoted the scripture Isaiah 58:1, which says, “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.” The angel said your name shall no more be called evangelist for I have made thee a prophet to the nation. In neon writing a sign appeared: “America’s Black Prophet.” His ministry in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, begins. In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Dr. T. G. Thompson established a ministry that would beacon as a lighthouse for all walks of life. In the year of 1972, Dr. Thompson’s ministry went abroad. Dr. Thompson drew thousands to his services by his radio and television broadcast. It got to the point where the church could not hold the people; therefore, Dr. Thompson conducted large crusades at Miami Beach Convention Center and West Palm Beach Auditorium, where countless people were delivered. Dr. Thompson is a radio celebrity for fifty-two years, being the genesis of Wexy Radio (1520am) for fifty years. In 1989, we relocated the Gospel Arena of Faith to 613 NW Third Avenue, which is now our present headquarters’ location. At this location, we have witnessed miracles in preparing us to do kingdom work. Dr. T. G Thompson is married to First Lady Robin Thompson. He is a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to many. Dr. Thompson is proud of First Lady Robin Thompson’s accomplishments as well as the careers of his children. In his early childhood years, he attended Eastlake Elementary School in Pahokee, Florida. He received his diploma through correspondence courses. Dr. Thompson furthered his education and received doctrine degrees from Temple University, doctor of divinity degrees from Rhema Bible College. He has received numerous certificates, over 350 plaques, and fifty proclamations from mayors and city commissioners. Dr. Thompson was the recipient of two honorary proclamations from congress. Dr. T. G. Thompson is a powerful, exceptional human being with a spirit of humility, the pioneer for numerous ministries. The incomparable Dr. T. G. Thompson is the “living legend,” the “icon” of ministry stating there is “No substitute for experience”!
