About this ebook

"And in this quiet moment as I close my eyes, spent and sated, I think I'm in the eye of the storm. And in spite of all he's said, and what he hasn't said, I don't think I have ever been so happy."

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana's quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey's singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey's secrets and explores her own dark desires.

I personally found many parts of the book to be very cliche and some of the sex scenes to be very stereotypical housewife porno. It felt like the story was only what the typical reader wanted it to be; safe but still arousing. After reading through so many constant sex scenes, I was almost left feeling sore and raped myself... I found myself skipping over the heated parts, just to get to the real storyline, like his troubled past. Its a complex story, but I'm holding hopes that the author ties it together nicely in the end. I only give it a 3 because afterall, at the end of the book, I was still interested.

Its a good story line but very poorly written. I can see why so many people who have hardly ever read a book before enjoy it because its dumbed down and easy to read. But for me i found it really hard to read through such poor writing! I wanted to enjoy it but could not. What bothered me the most was it was set in North America yet most of the characters were very fond of the authors point of origin England and their dialect was forced because thats how she thinks Americans sound like.

I hope people don't consider these books to be any indication of the BDSM community. All this book does is showcase a severely abusive relationship between a scared unsure girl and a manipulative power-hungry wretch. These books are gross, the writing is bad, and the author did NO research on ANY of the the important aspects. (Like all the "BDSM" she claims.) It's not right. It's terrible. I hope young girls arent reading these.
