I love reading books by E.M. Shue, she has an amazing ability to captivate an audience with her words and storytelling ability. This story is somewhat dark (as it has a mafia related storyline) but it really captured the raw emotions and mindset of those that have been abused and conditioned by their environment and upbringing. The characters and story are well developed and draw you into their world. **This story contains graphic scenarios of violence and sexual abuse so please read with caution.**

I loved this story about Anatonia and Vitaly. Anatonia was a kick butt woman who was smart and had confident. Vitaly, although he started with plans to take her out, ends up finding out his feelings get stronger for her throughout the story. This story had me glued to the pages from the moment I started reading it. Anatonia and Vitaly had a connection that was hot, and their scenes together were even hotter. This was the second book in this series, but the first one I've read. Now I am going to check out the first book because this story was so good. I did not want it to end. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves hot steamy romances. I received a review copy from the author and am leaving a voluntary honest review.

As the story progresses the situation becomes personal, their reason for meeting becomes known, and side players pushing for results could derail everything they have gained. E.M. Shue takes a trip towards the darker side of the night than her Securities International series. In Her Empire, there is still the darkness and evil to be fought, but the players are all on the illegal side and deal with things accordingly. I received a free copy of the book from the author.
