About this ebook

Did you know that most people are affected by mental illness, either by experiencing it themselves or by being close to someone who does?

Into the Light: Surviving a Life with Mental Illness brings help and hope to everyone who lives with mental illness in one way or another.

Following Pauline Spurrell’s acclaimed first memoir From the Shadows: Surviving the Depths of Mental Illness, this second book is jam-packed with information and support for all readers. Read as a sequel or on its own, Into the Light offers answers for and insight into the many questions that people raise when discussing the topic of mental health.

Into the Light shares the perspective of a person whose struggles with mental illness took her to the brink of death. Having reclaimed her health and her life, Pauline was compelled to tell the story of her survival in vivid detail in order to help others. Her career as a registered nurse also enabled her to reveal knowledge relating to physical and mental health. Here she provides an understanding of mental health within the picture of holistic health.

Readers of Into the Light will learn:
• there can be mental wellness with mental illness
• removing the stigma around mental illness—as common as physical illness—is long overdue
• it’s important to begin your journey towards mental wellness with a responsible and trusted advocate
• connecting to yourself is paramount

Find out about the six MAGICK steps that helped the author make her own personal connection to wholeness every day.
