About this ebook

She needs a fresh start.

He needs her to see how he’s changed.

Can time really heal everything and make a second chance at love possible?

Reeling from a painful divorce, and with a teenager in town, Cam’s returned to her hometown to heal. Not only is Timber Creek the only place that’s ever felt like home, her best friends are there...and the first boy she ever really loved.

Evan has only ever loved one woman. Sixteen years ago he knew he wasn’t good enough for her, but now she’s back, and time has a way of changing things.

Cam’s got her hands full trying to come to grips with her new life. The last thing she needs is to get involved with Evan again. But their attraction is impossible to ignore, and the connection that existed between them so many years ago is still very much alive.

This could be the second chance they’ve always wanted, but there are years of hurt and misunderstandings between them. Never mind the truth of the past and the reality of the present that could once again threaten to pull them apart. This time for good.

This is an amazing start to the Timber Creek series!!!!! Cam has returned home to Timber Creek after being publicly humiliated by her soon-to-be-ex-husband with her teenage daughter in tow. She's not expecting to be pulled over by her first love and town cop, Evan. There is so much left unresolved between them so Cam's return means they can finally get some answers about what happened 16 years ago. I loved everything about this book!! Cam is so strong and really showed it in how she dealt with her move, her daughter, and her exes. Their journey, both the past and present, was perfectly laid out and I was rooting for them from the second he pulled her over. I'm really want to patient for the other characters HEA but I don't know that I can be!! I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Cam Riley finds herself and her teen daughter back in her hometown in the book When We Left by Elena Aitken, book one in her Timber Creek series. After a painful divorce, Cam headed home to heal and start over. She hoped this change of scenery will also help her daughter stay out of trouble and come to grip with her new life. The only problem is encountering Officer Evan Anderson, Cam’s first love. Evan has never forgotten Cam but he broke her heart once and she’s not sure she trusts him to not do it again. However, their attraction is hard to ignore, and the connection that existed between them so many years ago, is still very much alive. This might just be the second chance they’ve always wanted, but there are years of hurt and misunderstandings between them. Never mind the truth of the past and the reality of the present could once again threaten to keep them apart. I loved reading this book and had trouble putting this book down. Every time I read one Ms. Aitken’s books I think she can’t write another better than this one, but she does. Each and every time. Each and every book. Elena really knows how to tell a wonderful story, drawing me into the story and not letting me go until I read the last page, leaving me wanting more. Her words and stories make me want to befriend her characters and live in their small town. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and highly recommend this book to other readers.

I loved this story by Elena Aitken! When We Left is the first book in the Timber Creek Series and a great start to a new series. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books in this series! Cam Riley never thought she would be running back to her hometown after leaving so many years ago after being rejected by her high school sweetheart, but finding herself publically humiliated by her husband's infidelity has her heading to the one place she always considered home. Local law enforcement officer Evan Anderson is shocked to find out he has pulled over his first love Cam Riley, but now figures he can do everything possible to prove that he has changed and that their love is worth a second chance. I was given an ARC from the author/publisher. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.
