Bunty and the Rainbow is Eve's first published work and is dedicated to the loving memory of her mother, who left her own stream of kindness wherever she went. Eve wanted to capture that feeling of kindness, to put a visual quality to the essence of her mother's colorful energy. It was an energy that held a gentle yet powerful presence that exuded genuine love and compassion.
Over the past few years the entire world has gone through an unprecedented event of our generation, one that has left us feeling a bit fragile and unsure of the future. It is Eve's hope that Bunty will inspire not just children, but those of all ages, to leave their own unique stream of color behind, a color that can bring such a significant and positive impact to others.
We all carry beautiful color inside of us, but most are hesitant to share their rainbow, keeping it dormant and hidden away from others. Fear has kept us all estranged from one another, literally forcing us to physically distance from each other. There has been an entire generation of children greatly affected by this, their time to shine was quickly taken from them. But the rainbow has been patiently waiting for them to uncover it's magic and the time is now for them to bring some color back to the world!
Eve has worked as an x-ray technologist specializing in mammography (breast imaging) for 32 years and learned early on in her career that simple acts of kindness, such as a gentle touch of the hand or a warm smile could ease her patients anxiety when dealing with breast cancer. With the loss of her own mother to breast cancer, Eve was saddened that her mother's kindness would no longer be felt by her loved ones, or to the strangers she would happily chat to throughout her day. But much to her amazement, Eve soon realized that her mother's kindness had not disappeared at all, it merely shifted and grew larger in the hearts of all she had loved in her lifetime. Kindness cannot be extinguished, but gathers great momentum if we allow our colors to shine!
Eve lives in British Columbia, Canada with her husband Mark and their two cats, Zack and Chloe. She enjoys hiking, gardening, and her new found passion for story writing! Her happy place is at home with her husband and cats, and she is extremely grateful to be surrounded by her loving family and friends whose kindness is an inspiration to Eve every day.
