Evelyn Heckhaus has traveled many places in the U.S. and once went to Germany. She was a school teacher in eastern North Carolina for many years. Her son, Ed who is active in Special Olympics, encouraged her to submit an entry in the Senior Olympics Silver Arts competition. She began to write poems and stories.
