Assume Nothing Peter Grice was your average kind of guy, an ordinary man, down-to-earth, simple and certainly not superstitious. He was a sceptic and dismissed stories of ghosts, ghouls and little men from Mars as nonsense–a figment of the imagination. He disregarded stories of the supernatural, and scoffed at people who related such tales. This was until he moved to a new town and met Greg and his three friends in Harley House. The sequence of events which followed his encounter with them would shake his view of the world to the core and when he meets the ‘operator’ – his perception of the life is dramatically altered forever. About the author

Fred was born in Stoke-on-Trent in 1941. Even as a young child he was writing little stories. Leaving school at the age of 15, he went on to spend his working life in the motor trade, starting off as an apprentice motor engineer, achieving a City and Guilds certificate in engineering before working his way up to the post of Regional Manager for a national motor component distributor. Fred’s writing took a back seat when married at the age of 21, but still managed to write a number of short stories. He has two favourite authors, Charles Dickens and Stephen King. In 2003 Fred suffered a heart attack and took early retirement to Cyprus where he decided to take up his writing seriously. To date has published three novels - Deadlier Than The Male, A Genuine Fake and Joss.

Tracy Gray had lost both her parents; her mother, tragically in a car accident when she was a youngster and now her father through a heart attack, brought on by the stress of trying to keep his antique business afloat. Taking over the business Tracy soon realised what her father had been up against. An influx of rich men, instant millionaires, with money made from the stock exchange or the property boom, were frequenting the antique sale rooms and effectively pricing antiques out of her father’s reach and adversely affecting his business. She immediately blamed her father’s death on these men and began to formulate a plan for retribution. Her determination to hit back at these people became an obsession. She devises a blueprint for revenge. Her plan worked beyond all expectations. Having found the answer to these people, and realising there was a lot of money to be made with this illegal venture, she eventually turned to using her scam on innocent people. The money bug had now bitten. Driven by the continual need to expand her business either by legal or illegal means, had made Tracy a hard and bitter person. The men in her life, who had fallen for this very pretty woman, also fell foul of her money obsessed ways. Eventually and inevitably she tried her devious ways on one person too many and suffers a backlash, but she believes she can still come out on top. Will she succeed or will she lose everything she had schemed and cheated for? Book reviews online: PublishedBestsellers website.
In 1980s San Francisco, a mother searches for her missing daughter in this Nebula Award–nominated tale that is part fantasy, part mystery, and part love story.

Offering “a deft blend of the oldest of magicks in a dragon, and the newest of sorceries in computers” (Anne McCaffrey), this is the incomparable novel that garnered Nebula, Hugo, World Fantasy, and Philip K. Dick Award nominations, and earned its author the John W. Campbell Best New Writer award—the “astonishing fantasy debut” of R. A. MacAvoy (Locus).

Martha Macnamara knows that her daughter, Elizabeth, is in trouble—she just doesn’t know what kind. Mysterious phone calls from San Francisco at odd hours of the night are the only contact they've had for years. Now, Elizabeth has sent her mother a plane ticket and reserved a room for her at the city’s most luxurious hotel. Yet, since Martha checked in, she still hasn’t been contacted by her daughter, and is feeling lonely, confused, and a little bit worried.

But Martha meets someone else at the hotel: Mayland Long, a distinguished-looking and wealthy Chinese man who is drawn to Martha’s good character and ability to pinpoint the truth of a matter. They become close quickly, and he promises to help her find Elizabeth. Before he can solve the mystery, though, Martha herself disappears—and Mayland realizes that he’s in love with her.

Now, a man whose true nature and identity is unknown to those around him will embark on a potentially dangerous adventure in a city on the verge of exploding with its own sort of magic as technology spreads through the region that will become known as Silicon Valley. An elegant, delightful, and unusual novel that blends ancient myth with modern wizardry, Tea with the Black Dragon is “a small masterpiece, setting a fantasy story against a contemporary background” (Booklist).
