About the author

Fredinel F. Banaag graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Mapua Institute of Technology and with a Master of Architecture from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology- University. In between he undertook an Independent Post-Graduate Research in Architecture at the Fukui University. He has completed the academics (pending dissertation) for Ph D in Development Studies at the University of Santo Tomas.

He began his professional career as a designer for AVillalon III - Architects, where he was first exposed to the many aspects of architectural practice from site inspection to the preparation of contract documents. Later on he started his private practice (Banaag, Architect & Associates) wherein he was commissioned to design and plan various residential, recreational, industrial, educational and commercial projects.

Arch. Banaag has taught in many educational institutions in the Philippines, Vietnam and Mongolia in the architecture, interior design, industrial design, graphic design and multi-media arts programs. Mr. Banaag was awarded the ("Monbusho") Japanese Ministry of Education ("Kenkyusei”) Post-Graduate Research Scholarship at the Fukui University in Japan and the Australian Development Scholarship for his Master of Architecture (by Project) at the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
