London, 1861 - Everything seems to be going right for Temperance Bliss... until everything goes wrong...
Tempy Bliss, a budding journalist, is elated-- not only is she about to announce her engagement, but the illustrious Charles Dickens wants her to write an article about gambling for his newspaper! Then she not only receives a Dear Jane letter from Ernest, but casino owner Lucien Hamlin also bans her from his gambling palace. What's a girl to do? Buckle down and work harder. She's determined to win back Ernest's love and turn in the best article on gambling Mr. Dickens has ever seen.

Lucien Hamlin has a secret...

Lucien is a hard-driving self-made man. His life is about to be upended by his unexpected inheritance of an earldom. It’s a fact he’d rather not have announced, and certainly not in newsprint, until after the sale of his casino.

Tempy's plans for her future shatter to pieces...

When Tempy receives a letter from Ernest informing her he's fallen in love with a Frenchwoman, she vows to win him back. All she needs to do is become the kind of woman he can't resist. In doing so, she learns more than how to walk and dress... she learns what she really wants out of life.

About the author

 Find Sheridan Jeane at www.SheridanJeane.com

Sheridan Jeane writes exciting and emotion-packed Victorian era romances featuring strong heroines and dashing heroes.

As of May 2016, she has released five books, four of which are in her "Secrets and Seduction" series. She was the co-founder of Three Rivers Romance Writers, a chapter of Romance Writers of America and served as chapter president for two years. She is currently writing a new contemporary romance series set in a small town near Pittsburgh The first book will be available in 2017.

Sheridan grew up in southern Ohio as the daughter of an artist and an opera-loving computer engineer. She never realized that most parents didn't convert their garage into an art studio that was outfitted with a potter's wheel, enameling supplies, a kiln, and every color of acrylic paint under the sun, nor did she realize it was unusual to be in the second grade and nailing shingles onto the roof of the new 2-car garage her dad had just built (complete with his very own workshop)! Sheridan fell in love with the written word, so much so that while she was away at summer camp, her dad covered the entire wall of her bedroom with floor to ceiling bookcases.

Sheridan's standalone novel:
Gambling on a Scoundrel

Sheridan's books in her Secrets and Seduction series are:
It Takes a Spy...
Lady Catherine's Secret
Once Upon a Spy
My Lady, My Spy, and
Along Came a Spy (coming in 2017)

Antonia has lost everything. She can’t even claim her own name. If she wants her life back, she needs that book. The problem is, Lord Wentworth just stole it from the Russian Ambassador.

…And they both need it

The reluctant spy and the daring thief find themselves at cross-purposes. Who will win in this dangerous game of nations— especially when their hearts are at stake as well?

Note from the author: My books aren’t edgy or stomach-churning. If you’re looking for something dark and twisty, go elsewhere. If you’re looking for something to take your mind off the world for a while and leave you feeling a bit better about life, then this is the book for you!

* This is not a cliffhanger. Each book’s hero and heroine have their own complete romance and HEA (happily ever after). Characters from the books will reappear throughout the series, but they will be in supplementary roles.

** The romance scenes in this book are explicit, but not frequent.
