Of course, he is a liberal guy in a conservative world, and politics are usually front and center on all campuses across the country. Besides, he's used to stirring up controversy. That's just the give and take of life, and his job is preparing youth for a rough and tumble world, right? But then, the professor is violently attacked. Why would anyone want to kill a man just for his thoughts? James Patterson, watch your six! There's a new thriller-mystery writer in town and he's got the same lightening quick prose, dead-on characters and a drop dead engaging mystery story. I'm living proof. Just when I relaxed and tried to put the book down, Guinn cranked up the pace and had me reading late into the night. Home town, small conservative college campus, and our reluctant hero Lam Corso inexplicably becomes the target of death threats. Believing this could only be an aberration, he denies and procrastinates. Why would anyone want to hurt him because he wants students to think, question, and challenge the norm? After all, he reasons, this was the reason he was hired. Of course it is, except maybe someone doesn't want an influential and smart, Mr. Nice Guy teaching their kids. Your political views won't matter. Gary Guinn's characters fully develop around a tightly wound plot, and a solid theme keeping the reader engaged until the last page. Bring on the sequel.
