This sermon is by Jane Austen's favourite brother who was Calvinist in theological leaning. She reported that his preaching style was "superior" when she heard him at Chawton, Hampshire. He supported her to the very end of her illness and is one of the few people named in her will. He published "Persuasion" and Northanger Abbey" after she died - so we owe him one of the greatest novels.
