About this ebook

He’s charming. He’s controlling. And he never lets go.

Dr. Suzanne Wolf has spent her career listening to heartbreak. But when two women walk into her office—years apart, strangers to each other—she begins to hear the same story told in different voices.

Deborah Bloom, a celebrated surgeon, has spent twenty years rationalizing her husband’s emotional cruelty and serial infidelity. He’s moved out, but he remains everywhere in her life—rewriting the past, shaping the present, and refusing to release his hold.

Lulu Mueller, a sharp, ambitious attorney, believes she’s finally found real love. Her partner’s marriage is “ending,” his promises are convincing, and the future feels just close enough to touch. Yet beneath the romance, something doesn’t add up—and doubt keeps slipping through the cracks.

Neither woman knows about the other. But Suzanne begins to suspect they are bound to the same man. As the parallels grow impossible to ignore, the therapist faces an unthinkable choice: honor her patients’ confidentiality—or intervene before love turns lethal.

His Last Mistress is a dark psychological novel about emotional control, self-betrayal, and the devastating cost of believing the wrong story about love.
