This wildly captivating novel blew me away with the vivid and oh-so-real descriptions. Heat and spice vie with action, intrigue, and betrayal in this one of a kind novel. Havens ramps up to a very action packed and suspenseful ending that leaves you wanting & needing to know where the series will go next. This is definitely a SciFi/dystopian tale like no other. The well-developed history of the world puts everything in context. Readers not only know what’s happening now, but how it came to happen. The various factions and organizations are brought forward in a very complex yet revealing manner. I really appreciated the prologue of this novel. It really set things up for me, allowing the story to take off from there. The variety of different peoples that we meet are not only well-developed as races but are completely unique. Havens highlights the differences between them, but let’s their similarities bring them together. Top this off with a fantastic cast of characters and you have something that you won’t soon be able to forget.
