About this ebook

Immigrant Dreams is a poignant poetry collection that explores the experiences of young and old individuals who have left their homelands in search of a better life. It highlights their struggles and resilience, portraying their journeys shaped by necessity—such as fleeing persecution, escaping poverty, or facing climate change. The 33 poems reflect hope, longing, and transformation, serving as a refuge connecting cherished memories with future aspirations.

The collection is a tribute to the human spirit's ability to dream and thrive amid adversity. It invites readers to reflect on their own dreams and recognize the shared humanity that unites us all.

Immigrant Dreams is a poignant and beautifully crafted collection that is both a tribute to immigrants and an invitation to reflect on our shared humanity. It would resonate with anyone who has felt the weight of leaving something behind or dared to dream of something more. Henry’s work is perfect for readers who appreciate poetry that doesn’t just sit on the page but lingers in the heart. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

About the author

Caro Henry, a Caribbean American and the award-winning author of The Edges, is naturally connected to the rhythmic soul of the Caribbean. The soulful beats of the islands, the harmonious tunes of reggae music, and the colorful tapestry of the native patois of her birthland, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands influenced her upbringing. As Caro adjusted from her Caribbean upbringing to life in America, she found solace in writing, using poetry and short stories to bridge the gap between her past and present.

Caro lives with her husband and dog in a Maryland suburb of Washington, DC.
