Mob “troubleshooter” Kevin Markinson would like to retire from his profession and join his family in New Hampshire — but some jobs are hard to leave behind.

A former Marine sniper who is also a fugitive for a crime he didn’t commit, Kevin soon finds a greater challenge when he returns home and tries to settle down with his wife and two sons… who are little more than strangers. And while his family might not want him back in their lives, his mob bosses can’t seem to do without his services—forcing Kevin to juggle between the dark world of organized crime, his role as a husband and father, and his need to keep one step ahead of the law.

If he can’t, he stands to lose everything — including his freedom.

“An unusual crime novel about what happens after a life of crime: when the killer has aged, when he’s hobbled by multiple old gunshot wounds, when he’s deeply entrenched in habits that accommodate a raging case of post-traumatic stress disorder. Most significantly, this damaged loner has to insinuate himself back into family and social life — tasks for which he has no skills. "Lead Poisoning" is a character study, not just of Kevin, but also of his wife and two sons, and each person’s hard struggle to move closer to something like family.” — Rae Francoeur, "Cape Ann Beacon"

“The reader cannot help but root for this family. Parts of their lives are familiar and routine; basketball games, school board meetings, shopping for a new car, passing a driver’s license exam, a poignant afternoon at a family funeral. But (and the reader knows from the first page that there will be a ‘but’) Kevin cannot easily let go of his past life. Whether this family can make it into a secure future is the chief question of the book.” — Woodstock Pickett, "Crimespree Magazine"

Mob “troubleshooter” Kevin Markinson returns in this thrilling prequel to Lead Poisoning. Kevin Markinson hasn’t been broken… yet. Serving as a Marine sniper in Vietnam didn’t make him snap. Working as a CIA assassin didn’t faze him. Doing time in prison for a crime he didn’t commit was hard, but he managed to keep his tough and cool façade in place.

But when his mob boss decides to break him out of prison, he begins to discover the cracks in his emotional armor as things go from bad to worse. Little fissures open larger stress fractures as first he is injured and then taken hostage by a gang of thugs—along with a troubled teenage boy.

With law enforcement closing in, can Markinson keep himself from falling completely apart long enough to protect the kid and avoid a return trip to prison?

“An action-packed tale of one man's search for the truth, and his desperate escape from injustice. It's a tale of love, hope, and decency in the face of almost-certain death. Kevin Markinson is a truly unique hero, flawed and dangerous, but with an unbreakable strain of nobility that makes this story so compelling.” —Mark Pryor, author, "Hugo Marston" series and "As She Lay Sleeping"

“'Stress Factures' is a fine criminal novel involving society’s outcasts — an accused killer and a young, troubled boy — who help each other and learn from each other as they try to make their way through a hostile world.  With twists and turns and fine plotting and characterization, the pace never lets up.  Very much recommended!” —  Brendan DuBois, author, "Fatal Harbor"

“Fugitive Kevin Markinson comes back into the spotlight in this suspenseful story of a father and husband who acts with a moral compass even while trying to save himself from the law. New England noir with a conscience, the prequel to Lead Poisoning is a fast-moving story that keeps you up nights until you finish and leaves you asking, 'Was he wrongly accused or not?'”   Edith Maxwell, award-winning author of "'Til Dirt Do Us Part," and "Speaking of Murder" (as Tace Baker)

“Seymour skillfully juggles three storylines, dazzling your attention with Kevin, Sally, and Danny as their paths cross and intersect. Then she fires a shot from the woods.” — Stephen D. Rogers, author, "Shot to Death" and "Three-Minute Mysteries"

‘I loved this book… I was hooked and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next… to say I devoured this book is a little bit of an understatement… What a great book!’ Dark Twisty Books

Suzanne Tyler barely knew her father. But when she’s given a series of secret diaries and eight mysterious photographs of women from his possessions, she knows she won’t be able to rest until she knows the truth about him.

To Suzanne’s shock, one of the photos is of her friend Sophie, who died ten years ago in an unexplained and devastating fire.

But Don only met Sophie once, on an unsettling visit he paid Suzanne just days before Sophie’s death... So why did he have a picture of her?

Unable to let Sophie’s memory alone, Suzanne begins to dig into her father’s life. What horrors is she about to unearth in his diaries? And who is it that’s out there, watching her every move?

Chilling and utterly page-turning, The Serial Killer’s Daughter is a compelling thriller, perfect for fans of C.L. Taylor, Rachel Abbott, and Tom Bale.
