About this ebook

For readers who want to plunge into a world as dangerous, vibrant, and mysterious as The Edge Chronicles, the land of Ralvera—dominated by arcane volcanoes of fire and ice—is nothing short of spectacular, rich in history, lore, and ferocious monsters. With combat as heart-stopping as Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn and a band of grounded characters like from S.A Chakraborty’s The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi, The Oasis Stone will sweep you away on an adventure of epic heart and dire stakes.

Trapped between prophecy and vengeance, a thief must decide what is worth more.

When the Vents erupted, they fractured Ralvera into lands of harsh desert and blistering ice. Eternal plumes of ash rise from the fiery calderas of the Scorch Vents, and great leviathans slither over the mountainous glaciers of the Frost Vents. The last forests grow where they can, far from the shadows of the unnatural volcanoes. These are the Verdants, the only remaining fertile lands of Ralvera.

Mayve, a cutpurse from the desert city of Devar, has never known anything but ash, sand, and the sun’s terrible heat. She works tirelessly to steal a better life for her and her mother, with grand plans to start anew where forests still grow and rain still falls. When a lucrative opportunity descends into nightmare, Mayve finds herself in possession of a strange artifact, sought after by everyone in Ralvera; the Oasis Stone.

Hunted by savage raptors, the mighty Oaken Legion, and a masked volcomancer who bends shadows to his will, Mayve must choose: follow a destined path, to bring the Oasis Stone to the Great Seer and learn its true purpose, or use it to avenge the death of her mother. Grappling between prophecy and vengeance, her choice will have apocalyptic consequences.

About the author

When Jack was in third grade, he wanted to be a mythologist. However, he was disappointed to learn that mythologists don't get to write the myths, and moved on to become an engineer instead. It wasn't until much later that Jack realized there was actually a career for people who wanted to tell stories—it was called "being an author."

Based in New England, Jack loves reading and writing all sorts of speculative fiction from fantasy to horror. His debut fantasy novel, The Oasis Stone, released September 2025, and all he thinks about is writing the next one. When he's not writing, he sinks his time into video games, board games, hiking, and a long-standing D&D game he runs for his friends.
