Die Hausherrin trug einen Morgenmantel aus roter Seide. Mit wiegenden Schritten kam sie näher. Ihr Lächeln und ihr Augenaufschlag hätten manchen Mann um den Verstand gebracht. White Cloud dagegen vermochte bis auf den Grund ihrer Seele zu blicken, wo er ihre wahre Absicht erkannte. Mit einem Satz war er bei ihr, schlug blitzschnell die kühle Seide auseinander. Und noch bevor sie einen Schrei ausstoßen konnte, riss er das Messer aus ihrem Strumpfband...
