About this ebook

"Fast paced, witty, and reminded me of Jill Shalvis." Romance Reviews and More

A country music heartthrob and his long-lost love walk into a wedding...

Will Truitt grew up living a country song. His momma died, his daddy went to prison, and his dog ran away. Now, as superstar Billy Brenton, his life should be pretty dang good. But he hasn't been able to write a decent song in months. Crashing a wedding in a quirky little bridal-obsessed town is supposed to provide inspiration to get his career back on track. Instead, all he finds are regrets when he comes face-to-face with the only woman to ever crush his heart.

Lindsey Castellano gave up on love a long time ago. As a cutthroat divorce attorney on the outskirts of a town devoted to brides, weddings, and happily ever after, she's honed her skills at avoiding love, commitment, and inevitable heartbreak. Or so she thought until Will Truitt reappears in her life.

When Lindsey shattered Will's heart fifteen years ago, she'd been a sorority girl on her way to the top. He'd been a lowly janitor with a dream. Now he's on top of the world, and she's the last person he should need or want.

But she's the only person who has ever inspired his music. And he's the only man she's never been able to forget. Have the years made them wiser, stronger, and better able to love, or this time, will they simply crash and burn harder?

Oh boy, where do I begin with this one? There are some books that just leave you a little speechless. Matched by Jamie Farrell is one of them for me. It is difficult to put into words why this one pulled at my emotions so much. I am so in love with this story. I don’t have anything obvious in common with the main characters, but their emotions and feelings reached out to me physically. Not just in my imagination. I felt the characters’ pain. Their heartache. Their yearning. But I also felt their joy. Will and Lindsey are the hero and heroine in Matched, the second book in the Misfit Brides Series. They met and fell in love one spring break many years before and now Will is back to see if Lindsey is still the one for him. Will is the country-singing southern boy who stole my heart from the beginning and never let it go. His southern charm and heart melting song lyrics were enough to want to push Lindsey out of the way and take him for myself. But, his heart only wants Lindsey. We met Lindsey in Blissed, as Natalie’s sister and the divorce lawyer who is not always welcome in the most married-est place on Earth – the town of Bliss. However, she is not the tough, baby-eating rebel lawyer that everyone sees and Will is the only one that can all her on it. She inspires him and his music but she is so lost she fights him and her feelings every step of the way. Will and Lindsey are both struggling with finding their true self and happiness. When they are together they are amazing. They believe in each other like no one else does and the love and respect they have for one another is so palpable. Being together makes them a better version of themselves. Their romance is an interesting one. Lindsey puts limits on it because she doesn’t want to get hurt. Will believes he can get past the line in the sand she draws. It is a wild ride for sure and never a dull moment with the two of them. Oh and the intimate scenes? Perfect. The balance between detail and imagination works great for these stories. I especially enjoy the steamy scene in which they are interrupted. One of the best things about a series is meeting up with old friends from past books and being introduced to new ones. In Matched we get more of Natalie, CJ, Pepper and Kimmie among others from Blissed. We meet Will’s family and let me tell you, I would love to see his sister Mari Belle go head to head with Marilyn (QG) and find out who wins. Farrell is so talented at adding little bits of quirkiness to each of the characters and it really brings them to life and makes them human. We all have quirks in our personalities. Matched is an incredibly emotional journey from beginning to end. I was constantly flipping pages and could not put it down. If you are looking for a contemporary romance that will inspire you through laughter and tears and a few country songs, give Matched a try.

***4.5 out of 5 stars*** I found Jamie Farrell's books when I was judging a contest and read Southern Fried Blues. I was immediately hooked on her voice and couldn't wait to read more books from her. The Misfit Brides of Bliss is a laugh out loud funny and sexy series. I swear I've never laughed so hard while reading a romance. Matched was such a fun read for me. I loved both Will and Lindsey as individuals and as a couple. I love a reunion story and Matched was so well done. Will is now country super star Billy Brenton, and Lindsey is now a hot-shot divorce lawyer helping to bring to rights bad relationships. I love that Lindsey is a matchmaker at heart, even if she doesn't want to admit to it. Will and Lindsey have amazing chemistry and I loved that when he is around her, he hears music and is able to write his songs. Seriously they are so cute together considering they are so very different. I really felt like their differences helped them to work as a couple. Lindsey is so pragmatic and Will seems like he goes with the flow so much better. The chemistry between Lindsey and Will is super hot and I loved they laughed together as much as they loved together. Honestly part of the reason I love this series so much is one of the secondary characters, Kimmie. She makes me laugh so hard and is the best friend both Lindsey and her sister Natalie. The girlfriend time in the books is every bit as important to the story as the romance. I also love how the town of Bliss plays such an important role in the story. The town is really a character unto itself. Matched was a great addition to the Misfit Brides of Bliss series and I can't wait to read more books in the future. I highly recommend Matched to anyone who loves a funny, sweet, and sexy contemporary romance.

Matched is a romantic but fun and quirky book. A divorce lawyer who has a gift for knowing if a couple is a good or bad match with country rock singer whom she had jilted because she had "seen" that they were not a good match when they were nineteen. I thought that this was really unique and fun. Add on a song that Will wrote for Lindsey about his snow angel's smiles. That was really a hoot. One of the secondary characters Kimmie was really interesting and funny. If you love romance with quirkiness added to it, you'll love this book. I also enjoyed reading about Mikey and Dahlia again. I had read their story in Smittened and it was great reading about their story from another angle. To quote one of the reviewer (Carol), "This is a story of second chances at love and accepting who you are and finding your place in life. The place that makes those smiley faces smile and makes our hearts sing." I think Carol really described this story very aptly. I was gifted this book by the author in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions are my own.
