Has Jane Austen's humor and great characters, but I put it a step below Pride and Prejudice because the lead character is less flawed, and thus less interesting. I do really like how in the end, all characters, even the bad ones (but not, of course, Miss Williams, the orphaned bastard) gets a happy ending.
It was alright I actually didn't enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. Maybe it's because I was very busy lately & couldn't immerse myself within the story as I did with her other novels. Or maybe it's not as it's all hogged up to be. I liked Elinor & Colonel Brandon & shipped then together! Haha I still have 2 more books of her to go but as of now P&P & Persuasion are her best & my favorite.
I saw the movie several times and decided to read the actual story and was pleased to find I enjoyed it very much and would read it again. Nice to sit with fellow Austin lovers and actually be able to say I read it... Hmmmmmm... Pride and prejudice next?!?
Sense and Sensibility. So masterfuly written in a language long forgotten, that really shouldn't have passed away. Elinor's steadfastness and character while Marianne's passion and vivacity are both role models 21st century ladies should aspire to be!
