4 stars — This was just a fun, solid series prequel. Novellas can be tricky sometimes, in that so often I don’t get enough to feel satisfied. But I was satisfied with this one. Both characters had a lot going on with them, they were flawed but redeemable. I felt for Della’s struggle for her father’s approval, and I could understand how that resulted in her drive. I enjoyed watching her struggle with what she thought she wanted for her campaign, and realizing what would actually work. I loved the way her personal story wrapped up. Crew had a lot of serious issues going on with him, I didn’t quite expect it. And I feel like while Ms. Crownover didn’t dive deep into the addiction, she didn’t gloss over it either. He actually really got to my feelz with how he saw himself and his worth… It took me a bit to get into their chemistry with one another. I’m not sure what was stalling me, but it wasn’t an immediate grab. But I thought their steamy scenes were on point eventually, and I enjoyed their relationship once it got more established. Obviously the action/suspense was both a little over the top, and kinda perfect for the book. I honestly have very little to say. It was fun, entertaining, enjoyable. I wasn’t blown away, but I was certainly pulled in enough to want to read more in the series.

***4 Stars*** This was a great intro to a new series. It had just the right balance of humor, heart, drama and smexy and characters I want to get to know better. Crew and Della were a lot of fun. Crew is a sweetheart, he really is. He may not know when to reign it in, but the man is a good one with more charm and charisma than he knows what to do with. Della is a spitfire. Hardworking and stubborn, she know what she wants and isn’t afraid to do what it takes to make it happen. Though things happen quickly between them, there was enough of that spark, that connection, between them that had me believing that they could have more if they were given the chance. The roadblock in their journey wasn’t unexpected, though what brought them back together was and I have to say I didn’t see that one coming, but I really liked how things turned out for them when everything was said and done. Things tend to be quick in a novella, and they did here, but I felt like I got everything I needed and wanted out of it in the end. A romance that felt like it could happen, a little drama, a little humor and a couple of characters whose books I’m definitely looking forward to so I can get to know them better, so bring on Case and Kody’s books! ~ Copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley & voluntarily reviewed ~

Crew Lawton may be a bronc rider, but he has gotten himself in hot water due to his gambling. He's trying to figure out how he's going to get himself out of his latest predicament when a beautiful woman shows up following his last ride of the year telling him he's the new face of her soon-to-be released male skincare line. Della Deveaux is doing everything she can to make sure the launch of the skincare line for her family's business is a success. She's not impressed when she meets Crew for the first time, but what she knows is she is not going to let a cowboy ruin what could finally be the thing that proves to her father she's worthy of inheriting the company someday. When Crew and Della begin working together and get to know a little more about one another, the sparks fly between them. They don't have much time together before Crew has to head out to pay his debts, but before he departs, Della overhears a conversation that devastates her. Will Crew be able to make things right with this woman who has come to mean a lot to him in such a short time? Unbroken was a great way to set up the upcoming books in the series. I'm very excited to get to spend more time with the Lawton's as this series continues. I'm very intrigued to see how things continue to unfold in the town of Loveless!
