About this ebook

War is only the beginning…

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book four in her Blood and Ash series.

From the desperation of golden crowns…

Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.

And born of mortal flesh…

Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.

A great primal power rises…

Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.

As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

Disappointed. The book is literally a rehash of the previous books (in the form of Cas telling their story to Poppy from his pov) with a very small portion of "new" information or storyline- this could have been done with a couple of chapters instead of retelling the whole story ? I was looking forward to the wakening of the old gods and a start of the battle against a wakened Kolis, but this actually made me look up reviews for the next book in the series before buying and from those reviews it looks like I won't be finishing the story of Poppy and Cas as it seems the author is loosing the literal plot. Very disappointed and annoyed.

Absolutely loved this series. Fantastic characters and steaming hot scenes. I've laughed cried and gotten hot under the collar reading these books. I hope the talented author continues the story of Poppy, Casteel and Keiran. They feel like friends to me now and I wish there were more books based on them.

I had high expectations, after all, I’ve waited almost a year for this. And because of those expectations and the negative reviews, I was scared to read it, but… Dear Gods! I haven't lived such strong emotions in a while now. Not always things go as planned, but I loved every second of it, even the frustrating as hell moments.
