About the author

Jeny Heckman was born in Bellingham, Washington, and was the youngest of two daughters. She met her husband, Jeff, in August 1992, and eloped three months later, at Magen's Bay, on St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.In 2005, her father-in-law began his final battle in a long war with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Having some medical training, Jeny took care of him full-time for four months, realizing early on he would be unable to regain his health.While walking one day to relieve some of the stress, she thought about Chuck, but also her favorite show at the time, Deadliest Catch, about Alaskan crab fishermen. The two topics refused to leave her mind and she began to weave a tale together. "I always thought in stories and just wanted to see if I could actually write one down," Jeny says now. She wrote her first book, The Catch, in a few short months but it took several years before she had the courage to self-publish it at her son's urging. However, her love for writing began.In 2018, Jeny knew her next project would be a series that showed adults could have adventures in the paranormal too. So, she created the Heaven & Earth series, about doomed Greek gods and their only salvation, their descendants of modern-day. Her first book of the series, The Sea Archer, was immediately picked up by the New York publisher, Wild Rose Press, and won Best in Category from the 2018 Chanticleer International Book Awards.Jeny lives in Washington State with her husband of over twenty-seven years.
