About this ebook

Grant McFarland is the head Protector of Clan Lochguard. His top priority is finding the traitorous former clan members who attacked the Scottish clan. However, the touch of a female he’s known his whole life has started to set his body on fire. Both man and beast want her, but until he can ensure the clan is safe, he must resist her.

Faye MacKenzie used to be in charge of security for her clan. Then an attack damaged her wing and she’s been struggling to find her place ever since. When she confronts the head Protector for a job, she can’t stop looking at his lips. However, she’s not ready to give up her career and settle down with a mate. She’s determined to prove she’s still useful, injury and all.

As the pair set out on a new mission, it’s hard to deny the attraction between them. However, when the danger amps up, will Grant accept Faye for the warrior she is? Or will his overprotectiveness end up harming them all?

Finally! Grant & Faye’s story. I’ve quite enjoyed these two throughout the series and I loved finally seeing them come together. The twists and turns in their relationships kept me on my toes while the rest of the story was even more compelling. This was a fantastic tale that had me wrapped up in it from cover to cover. This novel is a bit slower in pace than most of Donovan’s dragon stories but it is also much more personal of a story. That said, Donovan brings action to life, both in the bedroom and out of it. This novel sizzles with the chemistry between the main characters while also drawing readers deep into the fast paced danger that the characters find themselves in. What really sets this novel apart is the fantastic world building and character development that this author puts forward. Everything comes to life in such a vivid manner that you feel as if you’re really there. Donovan’s very well developed world and characters does build on the development from previous novels so I would suggest reading them in order. Yet again Donovan has created a one of a kind tale that readers will love from cover to cover. I’d highly recommend it to others.

Delaying the inevitable Grant McFarland is the current Head Protector to the Lochguard Clan, the job that use to belong to Faye MacKenzie before she got injured. But with time and care, Grant helped Faye to get back out there. Flying and strengthen herself. That is until one day he seemed to stop and start to avoid her. Faye is tired of not having a job or purpose and confronts Grant. Up until last year, Grant never would have hesitated to give Faye an assignment that could put her in danger. But that all changed the day she was cleaning one of his wounds and he thought about kissing her. With half his family being traitors he wants to keep his distance from her, to protect her. The two of them are put together on an assignment in conjunction with the DDA in an outreach program to showcase Dragon shifter art. With the thought that Art can transcend cultures. Both Grant and Faye have come to the conclusion that there is something between the two but they can’t act on it in case it causes a frenzy. And being in the public on assignment is not the time or place. Danger is always lurking right around the corner. Well written self-contained story that’s also part of a series of books. High praises for this action packed book with lots of adventure and romance.

Kinda lost its mojo in the middle. Main characters were really really cliche.
