About this ebook

When Dr. Layla MacFie realizes someone is stealing much-needed medical supplies, she doesn't know who to trust inside her surgery. Determined to find the culprit herself, she reaches out to Lochguard's electrician, Chase, who just happens to be the younger male who's been trying to woo her for months. But since there's no one else to help install the security cameras, she can't avoid him any longer and ends up being alone with him far more than she wants. If only the life of a dragon-shifter doctor wasn't so complicated, she would be tempted to give in and sleep with the male.

Chase McFarland has known for the last two years, ever since the day after his twentieth birthday, that Layla is his true mate. While he tried to resist his dragon's badgering, it didn't take long for Chase to realize how amazing Layla is and that he wants to take care of and claim her for himself. His initial attempts to win her all fail, but when she asks for his help with a secret project, he decides to change tactics and prove he's a worthy male. The more time they spend together, the more Layla gives in, until he's ready to tell her the truth and face the consequences.

As the pair dance around each other and discover each other’s secrets, they find out who the thief is and must decide what to do. Will Chase finally be able to prove he's mature enough for the much older Layla, or will she forever be chained to her work and deny what both she and her dragon crave?

The Dragons Pursuit Lochguard #7 Jessie Donovan Doctors come in 2 basic types. Those who really don’t care and those who care too much. Layla MacFie was the second type. She eats, sleeps and lives medicine 24/7. Oh that and her clan. Being head doctor in a busy clan like Lochguard was a daunting task, Being head doctor and a female, even more so. Oh Layla had dreamed of a family and a mate once upon a time. But duty before self was her motto! The book opens with Layla having a very interesting conversation with her dragon! Chase MacFarland, younger brother of Grant, head protector on Lochguard, electrician, has the hots for Layla MacFie. Being much younger he’s bided his time, watching, learning, waiting for the time he can hold Layla and tell her what he’s known for while. Someone had been stealing medical supplies and Layla was not sure who of her staff to trust. But she needed someone to help her nail who it was. So she asked Chase to mount some hidden security cameras in the medical clinic. Being near the handsome young male, was oh so tempting. In fact it was downright volatile! Chase and Layla embark on the journey to find out who is stealing medical supplies while trying to dance around their feelings and attraction. When the reason behind the lost supplies become clear, Layla has to deal with some hidden aspects of her life she thought was buried. Her sister Yasmin, her own femininity, her duty to the clan. Could Layla be the cougar to Chase’s young buck? Jessie Donovan has once again given us a stellar couple to write about. Weaving in clan history, threads from other books, male-female attraction and a mating dance, all while solving a mystery! I love her strong hero’s and heroines, alpha yet caring, that lead the way! In this book we see in love, age doesn’t really matter! While This book can read alone, I highly recommend reading the books that came before it especially The Dragon Dilemma, The Dragon Warrior and Cured by the Dragon. I was given an ARC to read but the Review is freely given and all my own!

Oh, man or should I say dragon! This is amazing. Doctor Layla lives for her job--that's it. She feels her responsibility to the clan is her driving force and she alone must make it work. When she notices missing meds she needs to find out who and why? Unfortunately, she's going to need some help. Chase, a younger dragon, agrees to keep her secret and install cameras so she can see who is guilty. The problem is she's strongly attracted to the dragon and his charming flirty ways. No time. Besides, there are few males who can deal with a doctor's schedule let alone a younger one. Chase is delighted to help. It gives him a reason to be near his true mate. Yes, despite the rarity of a younger male and older female she is his and he has known for two years. He's tried patience now he has a new tactic and this is just what he needs. He's watched her work herself so hard, now he plans to take care of his female and prove himself useful. It is such a touching romance. Oh, don't think its just a love story. Not with this author. There is another story going on that pulls the two even closer. I can't hint at this without spoilers so you'll have to find out for yourself. For new fans, this story will grab you and give a new favorite author for your list. For old fans not only is this the sweetest love story, but it is also steamy hot. There are visits with old friends including some adorable wee dragon kids, and possible new clans to think about. It is packed with good reading. Don't miss it.

About the author

Jessie Donovan has sold over half a million books, has given away hundreds of thousands more to readers for free, and has even hit the NY Times and USA Today bestseller lists. She is best known for her dragon-shifter series, but also writes about magic users, aliens, and even has a crazy romantic comedy series set in Scotland. When not reading a book, attempting to tame her yard, or traipsing around some foreign country on a shoestring, she can often be found interacting with her readers on Facebook. She lives near Seattle where, yes, it rains a lot but it also makes everything green.

If you enjoy the humor of Kresley Cole, the sense of community of Nalini Singh, the steaminess of Larissa Ione, or grew up on Anne McCaffrey's Dragonriders, then you'll enjoy her books.
