A bible must for any herbalist. It remains true year after year. Yes, there are some new discoveries about Alkaloids that can be toxic for your liver that wasn't availabe when Dr. Kloss was around. The book has short comings: 1. There are no guidelines how to mix herbs properly to avoid toxic issues, nor are their dosage amounts really given: this you really do need to either go to school for, or have a very good naturalpathic doctor who can advise you.
2. Again, the concern about Toxic alkaloids that we now know to be found in many plants that have been ingested since melania. My suggestion: realize that herbs are drugs. Don't drink herbs to drink something, they weren't intended as 'pop' or subsitution for water (and dare I add, fruit and veg. juice).
Realize that every plant should have a limited time use in the body; using herbs daily forever was never intended, and can make you pretty sick. More is NOT better.
3. Consult your physician. If you have an intergrative medicine department, really use their background, if they don't seem knowledgable enough, contact Bastyr College in WA state, or another Naturalpathic College that teaches herbology for doctors to get dosage, recommendations for use, and so forth.
4. You can get toxic results using even the most lowly of camomile, by drinking it, applying it as soap, shampoo and underarm deorderant. This is why herbs in everything can sometimes be the wrong thing to do. Check your soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc. You don't want to induce allergies you didn't have to begin with.

My mother and father had this book as long as i can remember. With all 9 of us (brothers & sisters), if we ever got sick or hurt our parents would turn to this book. And now years later i cherish this book so much that i dont wait til im sick to read it, i use what's in it so i wont get sick and etc. I think everyone should have this book at home. Thanks mom & dad, love precious.

I like natural remedies instead of modern medicines. This book is just what I was looking for, natural herbs, hot and cold compresses, fresh air, pure water(not mineralized), rest, and more. This ebook is excellent!
