Jill C. Baker grew up in a small town in New York state, where as a teenager, she wrote a weekly column for a local newspaper. An aspiring poet, she belonged to numerous poetry societies and was published by the Sharon Creative Arts Foundation in Connecticut. Her love of writing took her to Boston University where she graduated with honors from the College of Communication. To pursue her major in broadcasting and film, she moved to California where she worked in educational film production before joining the San Francisco Newspapers as a copywriter and AV producer.Eventually returning to the East Coast, Baker cultivated a 20-year career in the newspaper business, serving as Promotion Manager for the Boston Herald (Hearst), Middlesex News (Harte-Hanks), and Community Newspaper Company (Fidelity Investments). She also freelanced for the Cape Cod Times (Dow Jones) as a circulation marketing consultant. While at the Herald, she won the international Mark E. Senigo Gold Pen Award for copywriting, presented by the New York Times and Editor & Publisher.After a detour into the nonprofit sector, Baker became Director of Marketing for a digital publishing provider that served the magazine industry. Baker lives with her husband in an historic town west of Boston where they've raised two sons and several cats.
Jonathan Baker currently works with authors, who are interested in self-publishing. Prior experience includes: almost 10 years as a book editor producing textbooks and professional books. Jon also spent a large part of his career as a technical writer and a documentation manager for several of the largest high tech companies in the world.
