There are two certainties in life soul collector and hellhound Jericho Stryker knows too well—Death never takes a holiday, and women are typically more trouble than they’re worth. That goes double for his personal nemesis and regular pain in his backside, Lola McKenna. Sure, the luscious little hellcat gets his blood boiling in more ways than one, but some scratches are best left un-itched. That determination is strained to the max when a botched soul acquisition job lands him on the same case as Lola.
Fetching a stubborn soul from a haunted bordello should be a piece of cake. Unfortunately for Lola, she has to deal with Jericho horning in on her bounty. Attempting to keep her cool and her wits around her sinfully sexy adversary? Easier said than done. Especially when she finds herself locked overnight with Jericho. Not strangling him before sunrise? A faint possibility. Ignoring the lusty, depraved sexual fantasies he awakens in her? A snowball’s chance in hell of happening. But worst of all is the very real possibility that he could steal the one thing she most fears losing to him—her heart.
Warning: This book contains bad dog jokes, matchmaking ghosts, and two stubborn bounty hunters.

Marjorie Steel is still healing from the events of the past year, and she’s happy to put her plans to study culinary arts on hold to help her best friend deal with a difficult pregnancy and two recently adopted troubled boys. The fact that Bryce Simpson spends a lot of time at the Steel Ranch is a benefit, and she’s ready to see if her attraction to him might be something more.
Bryce wants to do a hard day’s work on the ranch. Once his muscles give out and he collapses from exhaustion, maybe he’ll stop torturing himself over his late father’s horrific double life. The Steels have a different idea. They ask Bryce to take an executive position complete with a profit share. As he has a young son and widowed mother to support, it’s an offer he can’t refuse. The only catch is Marjorie. She’s beautiful, smart, feisty, and her kisses set him on fire. But he’s an empty shell with nothing to offer her, and she deserves the world.
As the sins of his father continue to haunt him, Bryce learns the horrors of the past may not yet be buried.
Johnny didn't like living in his father's castle because of the horrid past of torture chambers that claimed so many of the townspeople.
The Wellington's who lived for hundreds of years in the castle before Johnny were a very greedy Royal family who liked to throw big Ballroom parties especially masquerade parties. Sir Jonathan Wellington the owner of the castle would make sure everyone at the party had plenty to drink and a good time such as dancing and loud music to cover up the screams down in his chamber of horrors, because he didn't want anyone at the party to suspect a thing. Sir Jonathan Wellington was very proud of his torture chamber and liked to brag about it to his guests at the party. Sir Jonathan would carefully pick out who he wanted to show his torture chamber to. Usually, loners were not much fun to be around. Sir Jonathan would put a mild sedative in their drink just before he would lead them down to the chamber never to return again.
Sir Jonathan's chamber of horrors went on for many years until Sir Jonathan got a little sloppy with his choices of his victims. When the two victims that were led down to the chamber of horrors, pretended to drink their drinks, over powered Sir Jonathan and put him on one of his own torture devices. The Rack stretched Sir Jonathan's body till it was completely torn apart.
Nobody knows how many victims there were, but there were enough to make Sir Jonathan a serial killer in those days even though this term wasn't used back in those days. Sir Jonathan's chamber of horrors could be the reason for all of the haunting surrounding the Castle Wellington.
Johnny's father would tell him bedtime stories about the castle which would cause him to have nightmares, but for some reason Johnny would only have one dream and that would be being buried alive in the garden.
