What happens when your experimental spacecraft breaks down near Neptune? Dying alone in space is the likely answer, right?

That's not how Wil Calder's story ends though; it's how it begins. Alien space outlaws rescue him and sell his pod for scrap.

He's given a choice: join the crew or step out the airlock without his spacesuit. Not great choices, right?

Now, years later, Wil is a lonely intergalactic outlaw and smuggler, looking for a crew.

Because space is lonely and boring, Wil could use some friends or at least people to work with, maybe boss around a little.

Before Wil can even enjoy having a crew to call his own, they find themselves in the center of a plot to start an intergalactic war.

A plot they aren't remotely qualified to stop, but who looks at qualifications these days?

Between epic space battles, a quest for redemption and a daring heist, the crew uncovers a dangerous secret.

A secret that they can't let stay hidden; too many worlds hang in the balance.

If you tried to cross the Buck Rodgers TV Show from the early 80's with the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, you'd come close to the rollicking good fun of this classic space opera.

Space Rogues is a sci-fi adventure that crisscrosses the galaxy; from one seedy spaceport bar to another, with secret gangster treasure depots in between. If you love & miss Farscape and Firefly, you'll enjoy following the crew of the Ghost on their adventures.

About the author

The first story I ever wrote and had published anywhere was a harrowing tale of beloved comic strip favorite, Ziggy, saving the Seattle Space Needle. I was about 11, copyright wasn't a thing I knew about back then.

I've always loved writing, and it has always been a part of my life even when it wasn't a focus. At one of my last full-time jobs, a colleague and I often treated the office to Donuts on Fridays and the random but frequent "Nacho Tuesday." The announcement emails that I sent out were my creative outlet. By the time I left the company the mailing list for "The Krispy Emails" (we usually got Krispy Kreme donuts) was huge and mostly made up of coworkers that had no interest in donuts or nachos, but just enjoyed reading the stories that announced yummy treats a few cubicles away.

I couldn't do this without my loving wife, Nicole.

When weapons technology advances faster than empathy there is only one destination, a barrier event. Live or die.

The Final War is coming.

Elaine McGee is the science teacher at Krauss Junior High School. She’s been going through a bad patch recently and is trying to make changes to turn her life around. She broke up with her lying, cheating, good-for-nothing boyfriend this morning. A couple of hours ago she smoked her last ever cigarette. She’s in a tent away from town, a quiet place to think it all through, and add to her list. She’s good at making lists, not so good at finishing them.

Then the spaceship arrived. Elaine is about to get some unexpected help from the largest mathematical concept, infinity.

Welcome to the Final War, Elaine McGee.

Chiro is First Minister of the Goodness Empire, an alliance of empires that rule eighty percent of the universe. He’s ruthless, crafty and sadistic. As the leader of the largest of five factions, former enemies come together after centuries of warfare, Chiro navigates the bumpy landscape of cooperation. The factions all share one trait. They are authoritarian regimes, that ugly, dangerous blend of industry, government, media and military where the only disagreement allowed is over who agrees the most. Chiro believes he finally has the means to crush the rebel areas of the outer spiral arms.

Professor Lawrence Chu is a math professor at the University of Bilcor-Anders in the outer spiral arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. Professor Chu may have solved an unsolvable problem. If true, the rebels will have a formidable new weapon. And it all started with an argument about a kiss.

Bueller is a navigator second class, after a recent demotion. She just can’t avoid the wrath of her commander. See, Bueller keeps having these ideas that sound really good until they go wrong. Before you can recite the first one hundred prime numbers, crops get destroyed, marriages ruined, and Pluto gets a suppository. Can Pluto survive Bueller?

Before the History Department at the University of Centrum Kath there was the Math Department and the Numeracy Committee. Find out how it started with this prequel. No experience necessary.
