About this ebook

It all started with the wrong Help Wanted ad. Of course it did.

I’m a professional fluffer. It’s NOT what you think. I stage homes for a living. Real estate agents love me, and my work stands on its own merits.

Sigh. Get your mind out of the gutter. Go ahead. Laugh. I’ll wait.

See? That’s the problem. My career has used the term “fluffer” for decades. I didn’t even know there was a more… lascivious definition of the term.

Until it was too late.

The ad for a “professional fluffer” on Craigslist seemed like divine intervention. My last unemployment check was in the bank. I was desperate. Rent was due. The ad said cash paid at the end of the day. The perfect job!

Staging homes means showing your best angle. The same principle applies in making a certain kind of movie. Turns out a “fluffer” doesn’t arrange decorative pillows on a couch.

They arrange other soft, round-ish objects.

The job isn’t hard. Er, I mean, it is — it’s about being hard. Or, well… helping other people to be hard.

Oh, man…

And that’s the other problem. A man. No, not one of the stars on the movie set. Will Lotham – my high school crush. The owner of the house where we’re filming. Illegally. In a vacation rental.

By the time the cops show up, what I thought was just a great house staging gig turned into a nightmare involving pictures of me with an undressed star, Will rescuing me from an arrest, and a humiliating lesson in my own naivete.

My job turned out to be so much harder than I expected. But you know what’s easier than I ever imagined?

Having all my dreams come true.

It’s no secret that I’ve been a long-time fan of this author. No one does rom-com better than Julia Kent… no one. Fluffy is yet another example of her laugh-out-loud, yet sweetly sentimental writing style. This story will lighten your heart, while simultaneously squeezing it. This is a true second-chance love story, told with an irreverent wit guaranteed to ensure an almost complete inability to put this book down, once you’ve started reading. I know I didn’t… even when my body was begging me to sleep. Take that, body! Who’s the boss now, huh? Aaaanyway, this story is one with which so many women can relate… regardless of age. We all have that one crush from high school—that seemingly unattainable specimen of perfection—that haunted our dreams and tortured our hearts on a daily basis, as we stalked/watched them in those hallowed halls of learning. What wouldn’t we give for a chance at real happiness with that person? We might even brave the hell of a high school reunion (shudders)… even if the object of our affection also played a starring role in the most embarrassing moment—to date, at least (Let’s be honest. This probably won’t be the last time we’re embarrassed on a grand scale)—of our lives, played out on social media for all eternity. What could go wrong? More importantly, what might go right? When it comes to this book, it all goes right. You honestly cannot go wrong this book. I would highly recommend it to anyone with a pulse… or without one. Hey, ghosts need good reading material too, right? *I was given an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review. All opinions are completely my own.

I can’t be the only one thinking… “It’s so fluffy I’m going to die” everytime I read this title, right? I know I’ve totally just outted myself as a mom but really I think anyone with a sense of humor would love Despicable Me. Which that has nothing to do with this book besides sharing the name Fluffy with one of my favorite lines in the movie. However, this book could have totally made me die… with laughter! This is one of Julia Kent’s funniest books that I have read. Ok, so I’ve only read a handful of her books but this one was through the roof funny! She slayed this story! I feel as though I laughed from the first word until the last word. Julia Kent is such a fun writer... I'd been in a bit of a rut lately. Everything feels like the same... but with Fluffy, nothing was what I expected! Mal makes this story. She’s just so darn likable. Plus it doesn't hurt that pretty much every book nerd that I know, such as myself, has dealt with a crush on the most popular boy in school before. Don’t we all wish to be seen? Speaking of the high school days, if you haven’t read the prequel Little Miss Perfect, than you just have to stop and grab it for free on Amazon. It’s a hoot and sets up Fluffy perfectly. You’ll get to know Mallory and Will a bit before they bump into each other in a hilarious way! Mal’s friends were just too insane not to love! Everyone needs some besties to push them out of their comfort zones and that is just what Perky and Fiona do! Well that and seriously pick on her when she deserves it. I adored their dynamics. They were there for each other and supported each other. They were the best of friends. I’m beside myself with excitement that Perky’s story will be next. Kent’s writing and storytelling is just the best! You won’t be able to help yourself falling for this story, these characters! I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

5 star review Fluffy by Julia Kent    Wow, what a great book! If I could give this book 10 stars I would. As with previous books I have read by Julia Kent, I was in stitches having laughed so much I cried. That’s right, not only laughing but snort laughing, totally unattractive I assure you. Julia Kent is one of my go to authors in the romantic comedy genre. There is just something about her style of writing that draws me in and I devour her books almost in one go. I absolutely loved the premise for Fluffy and could not volunteer fast enough to read and review. This was everything that I hoped it would be and so much more. I fell hard and fast for Will Lotham, he ticked all my boxes and was totally swoon worthy. I so felt for Mallory (Mal) after she made such an embarrassing mistake, particularly since Will was her high school crush. Although a hilarious read it is also a story of friends becoming lovers and the romance and love was just as epic as the humour. The secondary characters, particularly Mallory’s rather crazy friends and family were an absolute hoot. This is a gem of a book and in my humble opinion Ms.Kent has another winner on her hands.

About the author

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 4 New York Times bestsellers and more than 19 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French and German, with more titles releasing in 2019.

From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire she met in a romantic comedy).

She lives in New England with her husband and three children where she is the only person in the household with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
