I re-read this book August 2022. I first want to address that there were many instances where it was obvious that a couple were in an earlier book. Now I will check the order and which book I should have started with in the first place. I very much enjoyed this story. The writer is talented, the characters feel so real. Because each character is so fleshed out and their life so layered and enmeshed within the overall storyline, it felt real. The way the author writes men especially, is done in a unique way I haven't seen from others. The conversations are realistic. I am doing a poor job of explaining why this was so good. So just trust me and read it. But start with the first one, for reasons mentioned above. (SOMETHING ABOUT YOU)

After graduating from the University of Illinois College of Law, Julie James clerked for the United States Court of Appeals in Jacksonville, Florida. She then practiced law with one of the nation’s largest law firms for several years until she began writing screenplays.
