Tried several times to get into this book. Kept going back to see if I wad finaly going to find an interesting,cleverly written mystery. NOT! I've read/watched and enjoyed many violent books/films(pulp fiction). This author in my opinion is way way over the top in trying to express her theme. I get it, men/people commit violent acts against women. Not a page turner for me.

I liked this book. I like all of the Will Trent and Lena Adams/Sara&Jeffrey Tolliver books. HOWEVER... After reading a few books, Ive noticed a pattern: in all but one book, a chief of something (police chief, police chief's estranged daughter, etc) are generally the murderer/rapist/abductor. Its old news. Halfway through this book, like all the others, I had figured out the ending.

This book hooked to me, so I purchase the entire series. After the fifth book, the author totally ruined this series. I mean NEVER reread again. She is now officially on my boycott with a passion list! Save yourself some time... and find an author... who knows why people read a series!
