Good introduction to the subject but I personally would have preferred more content around the plantations and everyday life of slaves, in the southern states, rather than a focus on causes of the civil war, which is covered in a separate book.

Very well written and easy to follow. Loved the big picture with all the little details in between that helps you understand both side of the coin and the difficulties that lead to the war. Definitely looking forward to reading more on the subject in greater details. Love the timeline at the end of the book
