About the author

Katherine A Nevitt was born on the 9th of June, 1994 at Derby Royal Hospital. It was the hottest day of the year. She was born three weeks premature and weighed only 4lb. Since then she has gone through life much like any other child; learning to read and write with the hopes of one day becoming a bestselling author.

She has had many hobbies and interests over the years that include writing, dancing, animal care and history. Her life has been full of twists and turns from fighting depression to getting her family through life changing events like death and divorce. The year 2012 was one of the worst of Katherine's life. Her parents separated. Her Grandfather died due to unsatisfactory care in his residential home. A distant cousin was given six weeks to live after being diagnosed with cancer and died only days later. Her mother was diagnosed with a brain tumour and her father fell into a deep depression that almost cost him his life. The strain of it all caused Katherine to fall into depression herself but she fought back and decided to change her life for the better. All the heart ache and death proved to Katherine that she had to live her life while she still could.

At the age of 19 she decided enough was enough. She was going to do something for herself for a change. She quit her job as an Animal Care Assistant and took to writing like a duck on water. In January 2014 she published her first Book "Ironblood". It didn't matter that people always looked skeptical whenever she told them what she was planning. She knew it was something that she had to do. It didn't matter whether people liked her work or not. She was doing it for herself.
