Forbidden sports romance with a little small town thrown in. A super sweet, super addictive story, not too much hockey action though, seeing as Logan Tate is suspended from the team with the proviso he gets his anger issues under control. Enter Sports Psychologist Summer Campbell, an unwanted interruption at Logan’s family farm in the middle of Colorado. The more Logan pushes Summer away the more ingrained she becomes in his life. I love family drama and there was plenty in this book to ensure I got my fill. Logan is stubborn, sexy and passionate to say the least, but under all his gruffness there’s a heart of gold. I loved him. No wonder Summer had difficulty keeping it professional, especially when his family welcomes her with open arms. What a wonderful bunch they are. I’m so hoping for more from them. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.

I’m loving this series and The Rookie is a fantastic addition to this wonderful series but I do have to say it’s very different to previous books in the series but in the best possible way. Logan and Summer’s story touched me on so many levels and I’m sure it will touch you as well. Logan is struggling with life, his hockey is suffering, he finds himself suspended due to anger issues and that sends him home to his family to address his problems. Summer is a psychologist who has been sent to try and convince him to agree to counselling what follows is an entertaining yet emotional journey as Tate’s family welcome her with open arms. A couple of days soon turns in a few more days, an instant attraction soon turns into a passionate embrace but she is a professional and clients are off limits…… The Rookie is a captivating journey, it’s beautifully written with wonderful characters, the chemistry is sizzling, the banter is witty but it’s the love of a wonderful, entertaining family that took this book to another level. Loved everything about this book and I’m sure you will too so all that’s left for me to say is please one click this gem of a read. This is a great addition to the Looking to Score Series and I’m excited for what’s coming next.

4.5⭐ Kendall Ryan has done it again. The Rookie rocks!!! And had me hooked from the very first page. As Logan is a grieving, vulnerable, angry, gorgeous hockey player and Summer is a sports therapist whose tasked with helping Logan deal with his anger and grief and get him back on the ice. That's if she can find him first. And with so many feels, a beautifully developed romance, and the brilliant Tate family who include a funny grandpa, a mum who likes to dose mugs of tea with CBD and Logan's three brothers who would rather solve arguments with their fists than words. This truly was a brilliant and hard to put down story. And I'm so excited for what comes next. But honestly, it's going to have to be good because The Rookie stole my heart.
