This book is filled with suspense, intrigue and second chances. When they were teenagers, Nick and Lindsey met as camp counselors. Their time together provided special moments between them. When his parents came and took him away, he wrote her a letter that devastated her. It is sixteen years later and Lindsey is on the run from her abusive ex and harboring a secret that could be detrimental to her. She runs into Nick in her godmothers hometown. The meeting has reawakened feelings she thought were long gone and forgotten. Has fate afforded them a second chance or will her past catch up and come between them? This is by far my favorite book in the Langley Park series. All three books have shown strong women who rise above difficult situations, but there is just something about this book. Maybe it's because the book provided the back story in a way that demonstrates the build of their relationship more than the previous books. There is this lovely little world being built around this town of Langley Park. You see plenty of reoccurring characters, which as a reader really helps me get invested in a series because I feel connected to the characters. If you've enjoyed the previous books, you'll most definitely enjoy this. Our main characters meet at sixteen in Langley Park and while the intimacy that occurs between Lindsey and Nick is sweet and builds to steamy, it seem a little too mature for teenagers. Our young lovers are pulled apart, fast forward, and fate brings them back together where they initially met. Lindsay is running from something dangerous in her past and Nick has his on fears on the type of man he may be under certain circumstances. Lindsey while technically hiding, finds support she could never have imagined in the women of Langley Park. Our lovely couple rekindles their relationship in a way that helps them heal from the demons from their past and start their new beginning.

I have enjoyed this book so much, Most of the times while reading it, it was with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. The abuse Lindsay had to suffer like so many woman all over the world was heartbreaking and eventually she realized that she is much stronger than she ever thought she could be. With the help of her lost love, new friends and her amazing godmother, she managed to heal, help others who are abused and it also gave me an insight of what woman have to go through with an abusive partner and what they have to give up to leave such a person and how much it takes to heal and to realize that none of it was your fault. Thank you for this lovely book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

If there’s one thing Krista Sandor knows for sure, it’s that romance saved her. After she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2015, her world turned upside down. During those difficult first days, her dear friend sent her a romance novel. That kind gesture provided the escape she needed and ignited her love of the genre. Inspired by the strong heroines and happily ever afters, Krista decided to write her own romance series. Today, she is an MS Warrior and living life to the fullest. When she’s not writing, you can find Krista running 5Ks and chasing after her growing boys in her adopted home of Denver, Colorado.
