About this ebook

An old flame rekindled . . .
Zara Cinders always knew Ham Reece was the one, but he wasn't interested in settling down. When she found someone who was, Ham walked out of her life. Three years later, Zara's lost her business, her marriage, and she's barely getting by in a tiny apartment on the wrong side of the tracks. As soon as Ham hears about Zara's plight, he's on her doorstep offering her a lifeline. Now, it will take every ounce of will power she possesses to resist all that he offers.

Ham was always a traveling man, never one to settle down in one town, with one woman, for more time than absolutely necessary. But Ham's faced his own demons, and he's learned a lot. About himself, and about the life he knows he's meant to live. So when he hears that Zara's having a rough time, he wants to be the one to help. In fact, he wants to do more than that for Zara. A lot more. But first, he must prove to Zara that he's a changed man.

These two made me smile and laugh, a lot, which considering their circumstances, wasn’t expected! A rolling stone who never settled down but always came back on his travels, Ham was who he was and how he was and Zara settled for that, because it meant she kept him. As their background and the story evolved, your heart ached for them both. Both were easily loveable, and both had a quick temper, so their sparks never let down, whether good or bad. They weren’t overly dramatic, just full of passion. I think Cotton’s wise words sums things up, “Most times you get the good and then the worse, but in this case, they already got the worse, so the good is sure to follow” <3

This is not my favorite KA book.....it's so short & I wanted more story. I loved Ham & found him to be very much like Holden Maxwell in how he cared for his woman. I did like seeing Max & Nina again in this book. Overall it was just okay

I loved the fact that this was the first book in The Colorado Mountain Series where the woman was not kidnapped, stabbed, burried, etc...
