I love the staple of this series being horses and I adore the writer's ability to create a realm that is not real, but still believable. It isn't focused on romance like most female authors' works so that is an additional plus. The female lead is a wonderful character that you get to read as ever changing. This world being created is dark, yet hopeful and though devasted by various wars, there is still life and adventure.

The 3rd book to the series is my favorite. All the characters, the emotions, the heartache, the adventure is great!

Very balanced and enjoyable reading. Even better than the first and second books. The writing is on par with the best fantasy writers.
