About this ebook

We struck a deal. All business. Now he's changing the rules.

Five years ago, I married a charming Kiwi rugby coach so he could stay in the country. He got a path to citizenship. I got the money to open my bar and take care of my sisters.

Then he left. And honestly? That was the plan.

I don't do need. I've been the one everyone leans on since I was 15 years old, spreading peanut butter on bread butts to make sure four little girls had dinner. I built my life brick by brick so I'd never depend on anyone again.

So when Koa rolls back into Pittsburgh... all six-foot-something of muscle, too many dimples, and zero respect for my boundaries? I should be furious.

Instead, I'm watching him teach my sister to cook eggs. Listening to him hum while he cleans my kitchen. Catching him looking at me like I'm not just the responsible one... like I'm somebody's everything.

We have two weeks to convince immigration our marriage is real.

The problem is, somewhere between our road trip to Philly and a barefoot rugby match on the beach, I stopped pretending.

I don't let people in. I can't afford to fall for a man who's never stayed anywhere longer than a rugby season. But Koa doesn't just see through my walls...

He makes me want to tear them down myself.

Last Call is a steamy marriage of convenience romance and the fourth standalone in the Bridges and Bitters series. If you love a curvy, fierce heroine who's never asked for help, a swoony rugby hero who won't stop showing up, found family, witty banter, and chemistry that'll curl your toes... this one's for you.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and in this series. I didn't feel lost when I read it which is always nice. Her characters are well rounded, real, and relatable I also really appreciate Lainey Davis keeping things short and sweet. If you like Rom Coms, found family, humor, drama, feels and spice then this book is for you. The audiobook is a blast to listen to because the narrators were wonderful! I recommend this book!!

As one half of a "mixed" couple for 52 years it was refreshing to finally read a story that reflected a wee bit of my reality. A pronunciation guide for the Maori words and placenames would have been nice but otherwise nice. Although I don't think Koa was fully developed as a character and I am not a fan of anxious control freaks like Esther but Koa was nice and it was an enjoyable, sweet read even if the immigration issue was resolved too easily as any immigrant in the US will know in 2025.

Esther and Koa were a couple that is hard to figure. She was a bit of a harsh personality. I didn't like her from the beginning to the end. Koa was a sweetheart. He was supportive and kind. Frankly, he deserved better than Esther. The ending was a bit rushed. All of a sudden his papers were in order after what happened??
