About this ebook

She’s fiery and independent; he’s a wounded soldier—holiday sparks fly when a blizzard traps these two strangers with unexpected ties.

WINNER! 2024 National Excellence in Storytelling Award

Stranded away from home, Anne cannot decide if the dashing soldier who limps to her aid will be a help or a hindrance. He sure does like to argue with her, though. As tempers—and attraction—flare, his presence promises to warm her through the icy night. Betrothed since childhood, never mind that she hasn’t met the neglectful rogue, Anne knows it’s a positively horrid idea to fall for the neighboring estate’s new gamekeeper, no matter how much his brusque wit and protective ways might intrigue.

Returning home from war challenges the new Viscount Redford on every front. So he could be forgiven, surely, for being provoked to daring kisses with the irritatingly desirable miss he stumbles across deep in the night. Ed knows better than to leave any attractive female on her own, but when this one quickly seeps beneath his bristly exterior, despite his scars and rough ways? Ed hates anew that pesky betrothal that has landed upon his shoulders, along with the title.

Full of fun, witty, humorous banter, all the feels, and a heartwarming HEA.

In this sweet tale Ed meets Anne on one of her best yet worse days. They hit it right off of course some of their banter is arguing it was entertaining to read. The one thing they did not know was that they were betrothed. There is also an under layer to this piece about soldiers returning from war, wounded in not just body, but heart and soul it was a brilliant touch by the author. I found the book highly entertaining and well written I am happy to recommend this book.

There are plenty of misunderstandings to keep the story humorous and unique twists to keep it intriguing. I love the gentle soldier and the fiercely protective heroine. And, the supporting characters promise plenty of quips and banter. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
