About this ebook

From USA Today Bestselling Author Laura Scott

Risking their hearts and their lives while protecting the innocent…

Will they find the kidnapped boy in time?

Sign Language teacher Aubrey Clark feels responsible when ten-year-old Lucas goes missing. She’s determined to find her deaf student and knows more than she should from reading the lips of the man involved in the boy’s disappearance. Now she’s in the killer’s crosshairs, too. Aubrey has little choice but to accept Navy SEAL Mason Gray’s protection, grateful for his help in searching for Lucas.

Mason’s last op as a Navy SEAL had gone sideways, leaving him deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other. But he’s not going to let his handicap prevent him and his K-9 scent tracker Bravo, from rescuing a deaf child. Mason has never balked at putting his life on the line for his country, or to ensure the safety of women and children. But risking his heart? That wasn’t supposed to be part of the plan…

For readers who want to check this out, here's a summary description based on what I got out of the story: Audrey is a sign language teacher who cares about her students and their families so when a student comes to class with bruises on them that looks like a hand did that, she reports it and when the same little one doesn't show up and goes missing she will do everything in her power to save him. Mason is a Seal (a Seal is still a Seal even when they retire) who put walls in his heart because of the past that haunts him because he couldn't save one of the people who served with him. But when danger lurks in the shadow, Mason can't help getting involved because he wants to protect Audrey from getting hurt and wanting to help find Lucus the 10 yr old kid who's missing and because he knew with or without his help Audrey would probably get herself into more danger because of her big heart. Bravo, is a retired K-9 who served and work with Mason. With not only their hearts on the line but lives as well and the clock is running out, will they make it in time and find Lucas or will all their efforts be for naught? Will they be strong enough to face the storms ahead? Overall, Thriller is a genre that I really don't like to check out because I can't handle creepy/disturbing things and because I also can't stand for people getting hurt whether its physically or mentally. However, I checked this out because I was hoping they would succeed find that poor little one and it would have bugged me not knowing, and that it was under the genre christian. It also mention a K-9 doggy being in here. There was alot of dark and depressing stuff that I didn't like such as: murder, kidnapping, abuse, threats, i think there was also mention of prostitution, stalking, mafia or gangs, attempted murder, etc. I also didn't like that the evil doers and some kid characters refer to Lucas as dumb because of him being deaf. Just because a person has a physical or mental disability doesn't mean their dumb or stupid it just means that they are having different struggles and strengths then you do and communicate different than you. I also don't like what Lucas's biological father did and was going to do.. I like that the author infused prayer and faith into the story though. I also glad they succeeded and it had a sort of happy ending and I hope everything works out for them here on out and that all characters are able to heal. It would have broken my heart if they didn't succeed. Poor kid! It's depressing what Lucas had to go through and that his mother died and all the pain and suffering. The real depressing part is that this type of stuff happens in real life. No parent should have deal with something happening their child and no child deserves to go through something like this. What I wrote in this review is my opinion based on what I got out of the story.

Thank you so much for the great read. It is so wonderful to read stories where the writer talks about what God can accomplish and to give him the praise. I just love the fact that people feel the same way as I do about the Lord and how much we need him in our life. Thank you again
