The Virgin Rule Book is the first in a new baseball series from Lauren Blakely. This kicks off the Rules of Love Series, which judging by this book, should be a lot of fun! Nadia Harlowe has inherited a professional football team and she's doing her best to make a name for herself. She's recently moved the team from Vegas back to her hometown of San Francisco. She's a powerhouse that is smart, outspoken and has some spark and sass as well! Crosby Cash is a baseball player for the San Francisco Cougars and he also happens to be the best friend of Nadia's brother Eric. He's gorgeous, charming and hasn't made the best choices where women are concerned lately. So much so that it's having an effect on his reputation. Knowing he needs to clean up his act, he makes a pact with his buddies that he's going to stay away from women until at least after training camp is over and maybe longer. Since Nadia and Crosby have known one another for so long, they decide to buddy up to attend functions that they both need dates for, but since neither is dating, it makes sense to go together. Sounds like an easy fix, right?! Not so fast... The two enjoy spending time together, they have a lot in common and the sparks are there, the question is should they act on them? Their friendship is so important to them that they want to make sure nothing endangers it. I enjoyed Nadia and Crosby! They had great chemistry and it's always fun to see a friends-to-lovers and in this case best friend's sister romance work out. This one doesn't have much angst in it, but it has plenty of swoon for all those romance lovers out there!

Friends to lovers- the best way to fall in love. The Virgin Rule Book is the first book in the ‘Rules Of Love’ series by Lauren Blakely. It’s a sports romance (our hero Crosby Cash is a baseball player and his best friend is Eric Harlowe, who is Nadia’s brother. All three have been in each other’s lives since high school. Nadia and Crosby crushed on each other, but only Eric knew that!!! Several years have passed since then, Nadia has spent the last year in Vegas with her NFL team, but now she and her footballers are headed back home to San Francisco. Back to her family, her friends and… Crosby. Crosby has given up on women for the foreseeable future, all except, Nadia. She’s a friend- only a friend… or is she. The more time these two spent in their ‘plus-one’ club helping each other with events and award ceremonies, the more the lines are scuffed and forgotten. Nadia is a strong, sweet and determined woman, she knows that Crosby is supposed to be off-limits but she just can’t help herself, and neither can he, lol. This was a fabulous, no angst, sweetly sexy story, with little drama and a ton of fun. Characters from previous books pop up from time to time giving quick glimpses into their lives post books for them. Watching Crosby and Nadia fall from friendship to everlasting love warmed my heart. It blew away the cobwebs and made me dream of doing that all again. Well, in bookland, I can. Can’t wait for the next edition in this brilliant new series.

Book one in the new Rules of Love and what a fantastic start to the series, if this book is anything to go by Lauren Blakely will certainly have another hit series on her hands. I have read a fair few books by this author and I have to say The Virgin Rule Book is up there amongst the best. This is Nadia and Crosby’s story but as you expect from this author we not only get wonderful main characters we also get adorable secondary characters, in fact I fell in love with the whole cast. A friends to lovers story that touched me on so many levels, I fell hard and fast for the swoon worthy Crosby and I adored the strong, focused Nadia but it was their easy going, fun relationship that took this book to another level. The banter is witty, the chemistry is sizzling and romance is a breath of fresh air that will certainly leave a smile on your face. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
