About this ebook

It should be an easy rule to follow - don't bang your boss...

But I didn't know who he was when I met him.

And the first time I saw him, our connection sounded like the stuff of romantic legends -- that whole "their eyes locked across a crowded room" moment that turned into more.

I didn’t believe it. . . . until it happened to me.

Fine, the charming, clever, sexy-as-sin guy in the tailored suit was only trying to buy the same Snoopy lunchbox (as a gift!), but still, our eyes totally locked, and my lady parts definitely tingled as we vied for the prize.

Naturally, I did what any badass business woman would do. Negotiated for the lunchbox, then found my what-if guy online and made plans to see him the next night.

One night only -- that was the deal we made.

But one fantastic night had us both changing our minds in the morning. And making plans for another.

Until I walked into the office to learn he just bought my company.

And here’s the biggest rule of romantic legends -- no matter what, don’t bang your boss

Especially if you’re already falling for him.

THE WHAT IF GUY is a sexy standalone you can escape into! The other standalone romances in The Guys Who Got Away series include Dear Sexy Ex Boyfriend, The Dream Guy Next Door and Thanks For Last Night, and the MM romance A Guy Walks Into My Bar!

Where to start and what to say that hasn’t already been said..... If you are looking for a fun, entertaining read with adorable characters look no further than The What If Guy ( the Guys Who Got Away #2). I was captivated from the first page and there was no putting down until I had read the final line and even then I wanted more from Logan and Bryn and their cats Queen LaTofu and Bruce and yes these cats do get a couple of chapters to themselves. Ms Blakely is one of my go to authors and as soon as I read the blurb for this book I was excited because let’s be honest she is the queen of romantic comedy and once you add in the single dad angle you are sure to have the perfect read. In these uncertain times I’m sure we are all looking to escape into our books and The What If Guy is the ideal book to help you leave the world behind, the characters are adorable, the banter is witty and funny and the chemistry is sizzling hot. This series is one I will certainly read and re-read because this author’s writing has drawn me in and made me feel like I’m part of this group of friends who share so much love and humour. I’m so excited for the next book in this series and it can’t come soon enough. This is a book about friendship, Soulmates, love and taking a leap of fate when you least expect to. I urge you all to one click this gem.

4 STARS - The What if Guy is book #2 in the Guys that Got Away Series. It can be read as standalone. This is a story filled with Lauren Blakely’s usual heart, humor and heat which I can never get enough of. I adored the witty banter between the two main characters and couldn’t get enough of the sweet, flirty moments and the feline comedy. The book and storyline start off strong with an adorable meet cute. Logan is a divorced single dad. He is Summer’s twin whom we meet in Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend. He has spent the last few years focused on work and his daughter and has made no time for dating or relationships. Bryn is a super confident, successful woman. She is the VP of a lifestyle website. She has had some terrible luck with men including a cheating ex husband and also remained pretty career focused until her first encounter with Logan. After some reflection she decides she should take some of her own dating advice from her work and try to reconnect with Logan through a dating app. The chemistry between Logan and Bryn was instant. Neither had felt a connection to another the way they did at first meet. They engage is some serious sexy times and the steam factor was off the charts. Logan is commanding and completely dominating and Bryn loved that. After their seriously sinful, passionate night reality kicks in and they realize too quickly that they have to halt a relationship from developing. After this point there was a little push and pull and wavering on how they can make things work but it wasn’t too drawn out or overdone which I completed appreciated. What didn’t work for me was the cat POV chapters. The dialogue was interesting and I appreciate the humor Lauren tried to add in but I am not sure it really made sense with these characters. It felt out of place and if omitted would have made this a 5 star read for me. Overall I loved this story and look forward to Fitz’s story next in A Guy Walks into My Bar. ***I received an ARC from Candi Kane PR in exchange of an honest review.

5 star Review of The What If Guy (The Guys Who Got Away #2) by Lauren Blakely If you are looking for a spicy fun read then The What If Guy is the book for you. This was a great addition to Ms.Blakely’s latest series and was an entertaining read that had me riveted from the first to the last chapter. As I have come to expect from Ms. Blakely, the story was funny with characters you cannot help but fall for and whose story I was fully invested in. Add in that our hero Logan is a single dad and I was so happy. The chemistry between Logan and Bryn is instant, in fact as soon as their eyes meet across a vintage lunch box, the sparks fly. The addition of their cats Queen LaTofu and Bruce respectively added an additional layer and if you listen to the audio it was even better than reading their narratives. I laughed so much with the humour and banter, these characters are just so fabulous that you want to be their friends. I really loved Bryn, what a feisty, sassy, independent woman she is, whilst Logan is totally swoon worthy. Individually these characters were awesome but together they take the book to another level. This book had me laughing and smiling throughout and is one I thoroughly enjoyed. The What If Guy is a fun romantic comedy, it’s a story of finding love when you least expect it, of taking a leap of faith and finding your soul mate.
