The Ellie Foreman Mysteries Boxed Set: The Ellie Foreman Mysteries
“Complicated… fascinating… Hellmann has a beautifully tuned ear… which makes many of her scenes seriously funny …
“Hellmann owes a debt to fellow Chicagoans Sara Paretsky (complex plotting) and Barbara D’Amato (excellent research) – but she’s the brash young thing making this formula new again!
A dark, beautiful book about the struggle of the human spirit against despair… Impossible to put down. Honest to god, mysteries don 't get any better than this.
—William Kent Krueger
By every possible measure, Hellmann's status as a storyteller has grown. Plot development is masterful… intriguing, realistic characters… itching for the next book.”
—Midwest Book Review
These are some of the reviews about the Ellie Foreman mystery series. Now, for the first time, the original four books in the series are available in a boxed set at a very attractive price! Don’t miss these novels, which the author describes as a cross between “Desperate Housewives” and “24” But there’s so much more: history, humor, complex characters, and, of course, bone-chilling suspense.
About the author
With the addition of Jump Cut in 2016, her novels include the now five-volume Ellie Foreman series, which she describes as a cross between "Desperate Housewives" and "24;" the hard-boiled 4-volume Georgia Davis PI series, and three stand-alone historical thrillers that Libby calls her "Revolution Trilogy." Her 2015 release, The Incidental Spy, is a historical novella set during the early years of the Manhattan Project at the U of Chicago. Her short stories have been published in a dozen anthologies, the Saturday Evening Post, and Ed Gorman's "25 Criminally Good Short Stories" collection.
