About the author

DAVID PHILLIPS is Head of the School of Social Sciences at the University of North London, where he teaches social research methodology and data analysis and also directs the Applied Social Research Unit. LINDA REGAN is a senior research officer at the Child and Woman Abuse Studies Unit, University of North London, where she has been based for over ten years.
