Mysterious footprints. Eerie screams. For centuries, if not longer,
stunned witnesses have reported face-to-face encounters with the bizarre
beasts responsible for mystifying us with the tantalizing evidence they
leave behind. Countless books and documentaries have offered up the
same explanation, that Bigfoot are nothing more than large, bipedal apes
that mainstream science has yet to accept as real. But is this the
truth, or merely disinformation?

Now, Lisa A. Shiel--author of the acclaimed Backyard Bigfoot--presents the uncensored facts about Bigfoot in a meticulously researched, no-holds-barred exploration of the phenomenon. Forbidden Bigfoot
exposes the startling connections between Sasquatch and other
unexplained phenomena, from UFOs and fairies to stick signs and
crop-circle-like formations. Shiel strips away the hype about claims of
Bigfoot DNA evidence, touted as the ultimate proof, and explores what
genetics and the fossil record can really tell us about these elusive
creatures.

Bigfoot...Fact or Fiction?
Read this book before you decide!

From recent footprints to ghostly figures painted on stone centuries ago, Backyard Bigfoot
presents startling evidence that the hairy creatures who lurk in our
world's backcountry represent more than a figment of our collective
imagination. Bigfoot expert Lisa A. Shiel lays out the evidence --
physical and folkloric, ancient and modern -- to prove that Bigfoot and
its kin all over the world stand closer to us than we ever imagined.

If
you're a newcomer to the subject, you'll learn valuable facts as the
author guides you through the mine field of theories, counter-theories,
and assumptions about Bigfoot. Knowledgeable researchers will find a
treasure trove of little-known evidence and usually taboo concepts. In
perfect detail, Shiel lays out her singular and astonishing revelations
about Bigfoot, gleaned from years of research -- both in the field and
in the historical archives. Joining her odyssey, you'll explore:
Stick signs, purposeful symbols created with sticks and other material;Mane braiding, where intricate braids appear in horses' manes overnight;Predominant Bigfoot theories, and why they don't fit the facts;UFO-Bigfoot connection details typically dismissed by academic pedagogues; andDistorted human history and how it affects our perceptions of the Bigfoot enigma. From
human evolution to lost civilizations, from UFOs to ancient artwork,
Shiel weaves disparate threads into one incredible yet thoroughly
believable theoretical tapestry - and leaves you breathless.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY LOS ANGELES TIMES AND BUZZFEED • Taking place nearly a century before the events of A Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms compiles the first three official prequel novellas to George R. R. Martin’s ongoing masterwork, A Song of Ice and Fire. These never-before-collected adventures recount an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living consciousness.

Before Tyrion Lannister and Podrick Payne, there was Dunk and Egg. A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits.

Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

Praise for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

“Readers who already love Martin and his ability to bring visceral human drama out of any story will be thrilled to find this trilogy brought together and injected with extra life.”—Booklist

“The real reason to check out this collection is that it’s simply great storytelling. Martin crafts a living, breathing world in a way few authors can. . . . [Gianni’s illustrations] really bring the events of the novellas to life in beautiful fashion.”—Tech Times

“Stirring . . . As Tolkien has his Silmarillion, so [George R. R.] Martin has this trilogy of foundational tales. They succeed on their own, but in addition, they succeed in making fans want more.”—Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

“Pure fantasy adventure, with two of the most likable protagonists George R. R. Martin has ever penned.”—Bustle

“A must-read for Martin’s legion of fans . . . a rousing prelude to [his] bestselling Song of Ice and Fire saga . . . rich in human drama and the colorful worldbuilding that distinguishes other books in the series.”—Publishers Weekly
Charlie, Rick, and Katy have never seen a Bigfoot. Yet soon each of them
will, separately, experience something inexplicable in the woods,
something that makes
them question their worldview, something that sets them on the path to their destiny.

Father and son Charlie and Rick Bergren go through the same events together but
react
in vastly different ways. Katy Gallagher, while hiking alone in the
woods, gets shaken up by a strange series of events that will alter her
future in ways she hasn't yet imagined. If you've read the Human Origins
Series novels, then you know these characters well. If not, then take
this chance to meet them. In Bigfoot Beginnings, find out how they first experienced the Bigfoot phenomenon, and how those events changed their lives.

This Kindle book contains three short stories, plus a bonus story from the collection The Bigfoot Effect (Human Origins Series: Backstories, Vol. 2).

The stories in this e-book are also available in paperback as part of the collection Confronting Sasquatch.

++++

From the author:

Every character has a backstory. Readers may not be privy to the entire
background of each character, but the writer knows each of them
intimately. Events from the characters' pasts only make it into a novel
if they're vital to the story. But what happened to these folks before
they woke up inside one of my novels? To answer that question, I started
writing short stories to flesh out the background of each character.

In The Hunt for Bigfoot,
Katy mentions that she's never seen a Bigfoot before. Yet she believes
in this mysterious beast without question. How did she come by that
belief? Also in HFB, Charlie is a disgraced history professor on
the verge of getting fired for his interest in Bigfoot. What convinced
him to risk his career by investigating the Bigfoot mystery?

And
then there's Rick, a skeptic of the most diehard variety. He ridicules
Katy and his father, Charlie, for their interest in Bigfoot. He
proclaims that no such creature could possibly exist. But did something
in his past foster his adamant skepticism?

In Bigfoot Beginnings, I explore these questions. I hope you will enjoy reading about these characters as much as I've enjoyed creating them.
