About this ebook

Their love story sparked a brushfire that grew into the legacy of Lorelei James's Rough Riders series. This standalone historical romance is a prequel to the McKay family saga.

The West doesn’t get much wilder than Silas McKay. He’s earned his cowboy reputation not just as a rancher, but as a brawling card sharp who’s short on cash but long on charm. And just as soon as he claps eyes on the pretty new schoolteacher? Well, Dinah Thompson is about to discover what courtin’s like McKay-style—sweet, hot and passionate.

Luckily, Dinah’s got the sass and sense to stand up to Silas’s shenanigans. She relocated to rural Wyoming to teach and become a self-reliant woman, not to spend her nights dreaming about that blue-eyed rogue and his ranchwork honed-body. But Silas McKay’s powerful appeal and tempting promises convince Dinah to recklessly go all in with him.

When Silas’s long-standing rivalry with Zeke West puts Dinah, Silas and his twin brother Jonas in danger, each one is forced to make difficult decisions about taking a chance to build their legacy . . . and a love that transcends time.

I’ve been in the mood for a historical western romance for awhile now, but nothing was appealing to me. Until now. I was thrilled to find out that LJ had written one, and a prequel story to her McKay family books no less. It couldn’t get more perfect for me. It really hit the spot and I loved the story. It had everything you’d expect from a book set in the Wild West, and I believe that LJ must have really done her research to get the story right and to make readers feel like they were there. I loved every minute that I was there.

This is a Prequel to Ms. James' Rough Riders series. It is a stand alone and you don't need to have read the series to read this. Silver Tongued Devil takes us back to the beginning of the McKay legacy, the McKay/West feud and the McKay love of their beautiful Wyoming land. Silas and Jonas McKay became orphans at an early age and traveled from Boston to Denver at a very young age. You find out what experiences shape their lives and what made them become the men that they were. Also, you read what an incredible bond they had. Don't want to give the story away but it is an excellent book of brothers, love and sacrifice!!

Yee Haw! What an amazing ride! Lorelei James' Silver-Tongued Devil is the prequel to her famous Rough Riders series. Ms. James takes us back to where it all began with Silas, Dinah, Ruby and Jonas. There have been several "hints" throughout the series teasing us all with little nuggets of history and now it's all rolled up into one great story. This story captivated from Page One and I loved the opportunity to read more about how the McKay legacy began! Excellent addition!
